What exactly are you saying is not uncommon?The interior cuff weakness is garbage because a doctor doesnt know shit about your shoulder without doing an MRI. Since we really dont have any insite to what exactly his injury is I think trying to work around it is probably the worst thing to do. Working through an injury during a cycle is pretty much a waist of gear since he wont be able to go all out since the injury will be in the back of his mind and might act up and get worse. Take the time off...it will probably help you in the long run and come back 110% ready to go.
Shoulder and lower back are some of the most popuplar problems a regular lifter can encounter along his time lifting.

Indeed shoulder problems in general are normal in weight training but thats so general...since we have no idea what is wrong with his shoulder i think it would be terrible to continue to lift with it..
