Thad,
I tore mine about three years ago. The only thing that healed mine up was about 6 months of resting the muscle. I tried lightly working it out like 3 months afterward and I injured it again warming up. After it does recover, make sure you are stretch it out real well before every chest workout. It has been 3 years for me and mine is still often tight and sore feeling. I have a built up lump of scar tissue on mine. You can't see it, but you sure as hell can feel it if you push on it. The problem I am having with it now is that scar tissue does not stretch well, so it is uncomfortable for workouts. I can work out great now, but I am much more careful. My advice is rest it until you are sure it is 100% healed. This sucks, I know.
