I made much improvement once I started doing front squats and lunges.
Great excercise.

I started using the leg blaster aperatus a few weeks ago. Which is that Frank Zane harness that simulates front squats without the akwardness of the handleing the bar. Much like the shoulder horns that use the bar. I can definitely see my quads changing in a way they haven't before. Feel that shit really good to. Good exercise for sure!

Bigdaddy, I have been doing these a fair bit now and think I can tell my quads are changing too. Mostly a Powerlifter here, but who doesn't want positive change, right? Right now I am doing a Russian squat cycle and am using front squats instead of regular power squats. I squat 3 times a week. Yes, I know, kinda nuts, but I'm really liking it. I can handle it for 6 weeks. I am more or less off season right now anyway. My next meet is Push-Pull so I'm not too worried about the squat part. Hopefully I will get some transfer anyway.
I need to look up the leg blaster thing. I was looking into the stingrays, but I thought I'd see if I like the front squats enough to invest the money in some sort of harness.
Peace,

If you have trouble with holding the bar for a front squat, the Stingray really helps, i recommended it for a cpl friends, they now front squat as much as their back squat

Stingray are very useful in keep the bar on your shoulders. You have to ajust just right to fit your shoulder width...

I haven't done these for years! I prefer barbell back squats because its so much easier to sit the barbell accross your traps rather than have it in front. Tonight I will be doing box squats for the first time and am very excited!

I have really been enjoying these for something different. Yeah, they are rough on the delts. One of my bars has a slight bend and if I use that one it never fails to roll down my delts!! Ouch! Over all they have been pretty fun for me never having done them before.

best way imo, is to use the smith. You dont have to worry about balancing the heavy weight on your front delts and can realy focus o n driving weight. get down deep and blast off!!
