I used to wear one when was 19, but have not worn one since. Since my recent injury, I'm kinda wondering if a belt would have helped not get injured.

I think you should definitely wear one if you have any kind of core injury, however, I think it's best to train the core muscles hard enough to handle th weight you're lifting (if possible, lol) as they are your natural weight belt smile.gif

I DON'T USE ONE VERY OFTEN, MAYBE FOR VERY, VERY HEAVY DEAD'S OR SQUATS, TALKING ABOUT SINGLES MAYBE DOUBLES.

AS FAR AS MY ACTUAL SETS, I RARELY USE ONE.

Not wearing a belt is like food without drink....Or taking a shit without useing paper to wipe you're ass....Doesnt play smart to train without a belt....Unless you're trainling so dam lite that even mickey mouse could perform such lifts....dw

You're on the right track but dont think for one sec that even you're natural weight belt as you said could not get twiched by a slight move....Freak injurys happen when you fail to go about doing the right thing..Weight belts are the basics for protection. The older i get the more that sticks within my mind.

Oh I know, it can be easy unfortunately to injure your core doing heavy training, and in that respect, weight belts definitely help in preventing injury. smile.gif

I only use them on back and leg day. What I do is one week on with heavy weights, next week without it and less weights more reps. Its important to build your lower back so not wearing one has its benefits.

This goes for gloves and wrist wraps as well for me.
