It's been 6 months I'm at around 150/90 now, so I have no choice but to tell my doc about this and ask for a BP med. Thing is, I know he's a POS and will prescribe whatever his friendliest pharm rep sells, and not what's best for me.
Which one are you guys using and liking? Which one is lowest on sides?
Thanks

I agree with what goldy says and try some of what I mentioned along with the Celery seed. I run the Polycostinol 10mgs and the rest at DRD. I ran this combo a few yars back and it worked well enough to surprise my doc. I always like to see guys try the OC herbal stuff first

Hey Grunt
First of all, there is a phenomena called "white coat syndrome". Everytime you go to your health provider your BP is elevated due to anxiety about being there. With that said, there was a systematic review of anithypertensives done in Canada that looked at the three basic adverse outcomes of death, coronary artery disease and stroke. The result of their review showed that low-dose thiazides in 1st line treatment of HTN showed a higher confidence level when compared to high-dose thiazides, beta blockers, calcium channel blockers or ACE (angiotensin-converting-enzyme) inhibitors.
Example of a brand name of a thiazide is Diuril.
Let me know if I can be of any help.

First a few questions: Is it staying around that range all the time or does it flucuate through out the day? Diet wise are you watching your sodium and caffiene intake? Are you taking any gear? If so what and how much?
The ace inhibitors that Goldy spoke of work great, but if it flucuates through out the day you may want to try some Clonidine and take it only when your BP is up or it is also available in a time released patch. Have you tried any diuretics to make sure that you are not holding any excess water?

a good herbal is Hawthorn berry. Stone420 had high BP that would spike at old times and for no reason, he started taking that and he doesn't have to worry about it anymore. I always look for a good herbal remades before I go to the prescription meds but thats just me.

As some others have said i would decrease my sodium and increase water intake. first line of defense should be a diuretic but many Dr.'s go straight to BP meds. they all work differently and everyone responds different so there is noway for anyone to tell you which is the best for ya bro.
