I went to a chiropractic today to get another opinion on what is wrong with my back. I've never been to a chiropractic and have mixed reviews if they are worth a shit.

What experiences do you guys and gals have with chiropractics? Do you guys have any sucess stories or horror stories from going to them?

I would stay away from them. They don't really fix you up, what they do is temporary. So yes you will feel better. But it will get back to bad and you will have to go again.

I would consult with an osteopath and an acupuncturist together. Now that combo will fix you up and better than you think.

they are good for a adjustment every now and then. i was going to one for lower back pain. it felt good for a day or 2. he kept wanting me to come back for more. i am getting ready to get my second spinal epideral for a bolgin disc. there xrays cant see the real problem if you have one. i did a MRI and that found my prob.

They are a temp fix like what the guys are says above but when your a proathlete or a competitior of any sort its pretty easy to run in for an adjustment every now and again instead of surgery. Again what they are doing is limited but cmon they ae just using thier hands and some basic stuff.

i had a nagging lower back problem.Every time i would bend over for a short or long period it would start to burn...Beside him finding i had a disk problem with an ex-ray he did his charm on my back....Worked the hell out of it..Next day it felt like i did countless stiff legged deads. Its was sore...very deep sore....The following day pain was gone and i could bend over without it tighten up till it burned.....I say it worked wonders for me......I would see another one any time of the week....Wonderfull results....dw

There are horror stories out there, like disk slipping, neck breaking, etc...however, they are mostly wives tales. I have heard MANY more good things about them...

My grandfather was a very renowned chiropracter and worked wonders for a lot of people. I think they will really work well and fix many problems. Just find a reputable one.

Personally, I won't go near one, that stuff freaks me out, lol...

no x-rays will show if you have a bulging disc. only an mri will show if you have a bulging disc, hnp, or spinal stenosis. x-ray is usually just the first step.

chiropractors are like everything else. some good... some bad.... and some charlatans

i loved it. in high school i had migraines. went to a chiro. he found i had one leg a bit shorter than the other, put a lift in and gave me adjustments for 6 months. that lasted 12 years before i had to go back for some more adjustments (after not keeping up on a lift on the one leg i will say).

It has been my experience it all depends on the doctor at hand in every aspect of medicine though.

Chiropractics do work wonders. After you pay the first fee which includes X-RAY you will spend about 180 to 200 bucks ...Then after its pretty cheap about 40 to 60 bucks...Not bad to those that really have bad back pains.

I think that a good chiropractor can really help you when you have aches and pains due to heavy workouts (back pain and others). Acupuncture can also help (in combination with chiropractics).

Ive been going to Chiropractors for many years. I swear by mine, he gives deep tissue, reflexive motion, and skeletal adjustments. He spends about 20 - 30 minutes with each customer, so you dont go there if you're in a hurry.
