I'm terribly tired (have been for a month). I still manage to hit the gym 5 days a week but it seems that I don't recover like I used to. I work long hours and sometimes 7 days a week, I don't sleep well.
I had bloodwork done but everything came back normal.

Any help would be appreciated, folks!

I agree! I think you may be working your body too hard. Your body seems to be telling you it needs a break. Try cutting the gym time down, or only go on the days that you don't work long hours?

I would say this as a generalized statement towards any woman so don't think I am calling you old or anything but constant fatigue and sleeplessness are symptoms of early menopause. You may want to consult an OBG-YN and have specific bloodwork done to rule this out (if it needs to be ruled out) and if it is the case the bloodwork can show where in menopause you would be (again, if this were the case).

take some time off. Eat what ever you want, sleep as much as you need call in sick a few days.

Your body is telling you you need a break....if you can't take a vacation like others have stated, take a vacation from your normal routine

If it makes you feel any better I was feeling like this not long ago. I had so much going on that I was neglecting to rest and so busy I'd forget to drink plenty of fluids. A few days of nothing cured me! I forced myself...no work, no gym, no cleaning at home just b/c I was bored. I was a total bum! Most of the people I have met that are dedicated to the gym also never know when to slow down.

I must say that I feel lucky to have been able to find the happy medium. I think you have to hit the point that you have Vin, and then start from the bottom like Bambam did (smallest amount of time possible) and then work up until you find the comfort zone for your body smile.gif

I think it makes it easier to guage that way.

Thank you all for your replies. I don't have any vacation before ... August but I'll try and not lift and do cardio the same day like I'm doing now and see how this works. I never lift on Saturday and Sunday but I feel so lousy when I don't do anything that I end up doing cardio and other chores around the house.

I know what you mean...it's a horrible mind set but I share it with you. Just try to keep in mind sometimes you're doing yourself more harm than good.

I think it's a good idea to not lift on the cardio days for a little while. It will give you some more energy, and every little bit counts! I do cardio during the week, and weight train on Sundays, Saturdays are for pure R&R smile.gif

It's hard to do cardio only on days that I don't lift ... I lift 5 days a week ohmy.gif That would leave only Saturday and Sunday for cardio .. which is not enough.

It sounds like we're on the same schedule. I try to take a break from cardio 2-3 days during the week. My day off from the gym of course. Another when I work legs. And the next day if they're too sore...like now!

Hope you're feeling better Vin.

Thank you, bambam smile.gif

I do cardio on leg days too (usually 10 minutes to warm up and another 15 minutes afterwards to loosen up.
I guess that since I walk a lot for work, it counts as cardio even if it's not HIIT.

Very good, I agree this is a good place to start. (not sure if ur on var or not?)

Adrenal fatigue is a nother ques but they shoulda cought that with blood work i'd think.

You might experiment with your training, 2 days on 1 off routine or even 1 on 1 off for a-while.
You might be do for a week off from the gym all together do to job stress and stress of life in general.

Sleep is not what it shuld be at night this will burn ya out fast!
