Hey all,
My left arm is bothering me again ... I had the same kinda pain back in 2005 (got it for more than 4 months), it stopped but now every time I hit shoulders or arms, sometimes chest ... I can feel the pain right at the junction of the bicep and tricep tendon.
Don't tell me to stop lifting 'coz it's not really an option (I just started a new cyle). I can't afford a major injury either ...

Thanks for your help!

I would never tell you to stop....If anything i would tell you you're not doing enough.......But to get to the root of your problem..I would try rubbing some kind of heat cream before working out to kill the pain and wrap it up not to tight but just enough to put tention of the pain...And if you tryed that allready then all i can tell ya is to bite the bullet till the pain plays itself out.Sometimes kinks like that take a wile to heal...To me it sounds like a pull injury...question...Does it hurt anytime you pull something? If so more then likely its a pull injury...And for the record they take a wile to heal.good luck vin......dw

try warming up your shoulder really good before doing anything along with some good stretching. If you could please post up exactly what movements are causing the pain may be beneficial for us to help with.

I'm kinda confused, is the pain in your shoulder or elbow? If it is in the shoulder, then do as any1uno suggested as well as apply some kind of topical heat anointment prior to lifting. If it is in the elbow, you'll still need to do stretching movements, but you should probably do them everyday until the pain goes away. I also recommend that you ice the area that you're having pain in after each workout.

Here are some stretches for your elbow:

Stretch #1 - Hold your arm out straight in front of you parallel with the floor and with palm facing down. Now with your other hand, gently push down on your hand while not moving your arm.

Stretch #2 - Start by holding your arm out straight in front with palm facing up, then bring your hand to your shoulder. Your upper arm should still be parallel with the floor. Now with your other hand, gently push down on your wrist.

You should also try iceing your shoulder and elbows after workouts, that will help alot with the inflammation and pain. Give it a try.

Thanks, guys.
It's not the elbow nor the shoulder but the junction of the bicep and tricep tendon. That's what makes me fear the worst. I think it's a tendonitis ...
I'm gonna rub an heat ointment onto it before my workout and ice it afterwards but that's what I did three years ago and as I said, it still bothered me during 4 months ...
I always warm up but it doesn't change anything sad.gif

Yikes sorry to hear that. Tendonitis is a bitch when it comes to lifting, as the lifting will irritate it, but it may not irritate it as much with a lot of stretching before hand. I also like "Rub 4535" for a heat cream, it'll feel better.

Hope it clears up sooner than later.

I did legs today but I rubbed an heat ointment into my left arm anyway and I feel a bit better! I'll do cardio tomorrow and chest on Thursday.

I found out that rubbing some ice onto it instead of simply placing an ice pack on my arm kinda kills the pain for longer. Thank you, PERSIANBOLIC smile.gif

Glad you found something to help. My PT told me to do that to my knee until it feels like it's on fire! I do it after every workout whether it hurts or not to keep the pain away.
