QUOTE(Pittbull @ Mar 18 2004, 08:54 PM)
I would like to say welcome to our board and our home.
I my self was once a noobie to the game and the boards and this is no flame at all. I would just like to give some friendly advice to our family and new members.
All that being said here we go:
A couple of simple common sense rules to follow if you are looking for a source or something a source may carry.
1) Posting openly for sources and lists has two overall effects.
It makes some members suspicious as to who you are. I say that
because the game we are all involved is a dangerous one and there has to be a certain level of discretion to your search. Without caution members may wonder whether or not you are LE and trying to find out info or maybe you want to avoid doing the "leg work" of getting your own info. Making friends on this board and boards like it show your desired interest in being part of the community and also show that you have a desire to be trusted and to put your "time" in. It also shows the owners of the boards that you are interested in participating and adding to the board rather then looking for a hook up.
The second effect it has is on the ever present scammer scumbagfuckfacemutherfuckers that lurk on everyboard. A scammer will see that and PM you or email you saying he/she is a good member etc. and has exactly what you are looking for. Next thing you know, you are trusting this person with your hard earned cash and then you send it and get screwed. Again this is the way things are not the way I would like them to be.I worry about our new members and most certainly now that LE has gotten such a hard on since the baseball issue.
2) When making contacts and friends be patient. Everything that is good comes to those who wait. I know how cliche this sounds but it is true. It allows you time to feel people out, see what kind of rep they have with others, and allows you time to develop a rapport' with good members and if nothing else this provides for your financial as well as your personal safety.
3) Watch, pay attention to other members.Who posts and "puts it out there" to be cut off, who lurks and never posts, who has informative posts, who (like me  lol) is a post whore, who is the comedian, etc. Learn about us. This is more family in some respects then some have at home. We need to depend on each other and watch each others backs.
4) Ask questions. What I mean to say is if you want to know if a source is good and none of your bros knows him/her ask a MOD,ask Mike, we are here to help you and make your time here productive and safe.
5) Learn.use the search button lol. This is a ususal flame for newbies but I use it all the time. Search out your questions and take the time to not only inform yourself but contribute to the board.
6) Lastly there is no such thing as being "too safe", or " safe enough" . Watch your ass and don't get burned.
