It seems to me that IGF could be of huge potential in the world of bodybuilding if there are any benefits as suggested. Obviously with the cycles we run and all the AAS pumping through your body it is hard to tell what products are helping and making the biggest impact, hence when using IGF with a stack is there truly anyway to quantify its effectiveness? So my thought is for a natural body builder to use IGF and see if there are any kind of noticeable immediate benefits.

Where would we find such an idiot? You're looking at him. Though I have a history of AAS use I have been clean for 4 years. I thought maybe before I started back to some AAS cycles I could run a cycle of IGF only to try and determine effectiveness. I could post starting stats and pics and keep an updated log throughout the cycle? What do you guys think? Worth a try? I am thinking EOD bilateral intramuscular injections of 50 MCGs post workout into the muscle worked that day, 6 week cycle. Suggestions?

Sounds good mang!

I'll be doing something similar with CJC and GHRP-6 soon enough.

I myself did a couple cycles of IGF-1 before any AAS. The results were pretty staggering.

Grunt do you have any links to studies of IGF on women? Actually, I'd love to see logs if you know any forums that got em...

There are a few abstracts about IGF and women and very few of it's use in women, I have a few but it will take me a bit to find them! lol

but for now , here's one. draw your own conclusions

Circulating concentrations of insulin-like growth factor-I and risk of breast cancer.

SE Hankinson, WC Willett, GA Colditz, DJ Hunter, DS Michaud, B Deroo, B Rosner, FE Speizer, M Pollak

BACKGROUND: Insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-I, a mitogenic and antiapoptotic peptide, can affect the proliferation of breast epithelial cells, and is thought to have a role in breast cancer. We hypothesised that high circulating IGF-I concentrations would be associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. METHODS: We carried out a nested case-control study within the prospective Nurses' Health Study cohort. Plasma concentrations of IGF-I and IGF binding protein 3 (IGFBP-3) were measured in blood samples collected in 1989-90. We identified 397 women who had a diagnosis of breast cancer after this date and 620 age-matched controls. IGF-I concentrations were compared by logistic regression with adjustment for other breast-cancer risk factors. FINDINGS: There was no association between IGF-I concentrations and breast-cancer risk among the whole study group. In postmenopausal women there was no association between IGF-I concentrations and breast-cancer risk (top vs bottom quintile of IGF-I, relative risk 0.85 [95% CI 0.53-1.39]). The relative risk of breast cancer among premenopausal women by IGF-I concentration (top vs bottom tertile) was 2.33 (1.06-5.16; p for trend 0.08). Among premenopausal women less than 50 years old at the time of blood collection, the relative risk was 4.58 (1.75-12.0; p for trend 0.02). After further adjustment for plasma IGFBP-3 concentrations these relative risks were 2.88 and 7.28, respectively. INTERPRETATION: A positive relation between circulating IGF-I concentration and risk of breast cancer was found among premenopausal but not postmenopausal women. Plasma IGF-I concentrations may be useful in the identification of women at high risk of breast cancer and in the development of risk reduction strategies. Additional larger studies of this association among premenopausal women are needed to provide more precise estimates of effect.

Well for sure regular doctor check-ups to make sure no cancer is present, cause igf very well could add fuel to the fire.

^Gotta agree with Shine.
If you have a family history of cancer, it is quiet a gamble messing with IGF-1.
A lot of the medications given to cancer therapy patients main role is to block the effects of IGF-1.

If you choose to use, be sure you will have no regrets. I'm certainly not trying to use a scare tactic, but cancer cell growth is very dependent upon IGF-1. Obviously, large circulating concentrations of it raise the risk, if it(cancer) is present.
