I HAVE HAD IT FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS NOW.

I DUNNO WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT, I'M JUST TRYNA DEAL WITH IT.

ABOUT CRIPPLES ME TO DO A HAMMER CURL WITH MY RIGHT ARM, BUT I TRY AND DO IT ANYWAYS.

I DON'T TAKE PAIN MEDICATION, AND ICING DIDN'T REALLY DO ANYTHING FOR MINE, SO I JUST STOPPED IT.

FROM WHAT I'VE READ APPARENTLY I HAVE A BAD CASE OF IT, AND POSSIBLY A DAMAGED TENDON.

Yeah TB me and you talked about this a bit-mine has improved a whole helluva lot.

Some general info- tennis elbow is actually 90% of the time a forearm imbalance between the extensors (opening the hand) and the flexors (closing the hand) the extensors become weakened because there usage is propotionately less in everyday activities.
Think about it how many times do you open your fingers against resistance...almost never.

So strengthening the extensors is one step- reverse wrist curls with a thumbless grip...also rubber bands wrapped around the last knuckles of the fingers opening it against that resistance will help.

ICE HEAT ICE- alternate these to expedite the natural healing process of the body.

Now- here is what I found recently- for years I did arms on a seperate day- well what I realized was that it was one more day in the training week that I was hammering the elbows with heavy weight- the attrition was the issue- shoulders and chest day were 2 other seperate workouts putting stress on the elbows- so I condensed the workouts down to chest and tris in one w/o and shoulders and bis in another- the shit has just about dissapeared.

Glucosamine chondroiten MSM Cissus Extra C bromelain boswellia turmeric and a tops or adequan
IGF and GH
Nandrolones specifically deca or NPP will all help the healing of the tendon the overtraining or overstressing has to be dealt with by changing the stres placed on the joint.

Just some shit I realized when dealing with mine for almost a year.

DEF. LISTEN TO AJ, HE SCHOOLED ME ON IT, WHEN WE HAVE TALKED NUMEROUS TIMES.

NOT TO HIGHJACK YOUR THREAD H5, BUT AJ, ITS FUNNY YOU MENTIONED THE IMBALANCE BRO, I THINK THATS HOW I INJURED MINE TO BEGIN WITH.

I NEVER REALLY TRAINED FOREARMS, THEN ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO, I STARTED HITTING THEM LIKE CRAZY, FLEXOR AND EXTENSOR.

THE TOPS OF MY FOREARMS ESPECIALLY WHERE THE FINGERS OPEN UP, AND I WAS CURLING A WEIGHTED ROPE, AND THE NEXT DAY I DID BACK, DID SOME 405 ROWS WITH SHITTY FORM AND FUCKED MY SHIT UP, BEEN LIKE THAT SINCE.

YOU THINK I MAY HAVE DONE TO MUCH AND HAD AN OVERUSE INURY?

BTW, IF I TRY AND STRAIGHTEN MY ARM OUT WHILE ELEVATING IT TO MY SIDE (BASICALLY LIKE THE TOP OF A LATERAL RAISE) THEN OPEN MY HAND, IT ALMOST BRINGS ME TO MY KNEES.

BUT I CAN MAKE A FIST FINE, JUST NOT OPEN IT WITH MY ARM LENTHENED OUT, WEIRD...

That sounds very bicep tendon to me TB- I had the same issue with lateral raises- is your pain at the elbow to the shoulder when you do that??
I aggravated mine also by being over zealous about improving my back and doing 2 back w/o's per week- chining at 280-290 twice a week- made me realize why the bigger pros drop the shit completely.

NO, THATS THE THING, MY SHOULDER DOESN'T HAVE ANY EFFECT IN IT.

ITS JUST LIKE SAY I AM STANDING THEN RAISE MY ARM UP TO MY SIDE, ON THE SIDE OF MY BODY, THEN ATTEMPT TO OPEN MY FIST UP WIDE, I INSTANTLY FEEL A SHARP BURNING SENSATION IN MY ELBOW AREA.

LIKE WHERE THE FOREARM MUSCLES ATTACH TO THE ELBOW.

Yeah- I had pain there and medial side- this will sound ass backwards but alot of that is eccentric damage from curls.
May want to play around with more comfortable grips and machines and let that aspect heal.

It has been my experience that alot of these problems are overuse- same type exercise hitting the same angle over and over- never gets a chance to fully heal and recover before its hit again- we all have those bread and butter exercises that we fall in love with- take a look at the training and see what is causing the pain and when during the exercise schedule is it hurting most.

I had a tennis elbow from breaking concrete at my parents'house. The only way to cure it is to cast your elbow, otherwise you'll keep using your elbow while you need to rest. I tried anti-inflammatories, laser therapy, ultrasounds, acupuncture, everything and nothing worked but the cast.

Take care, huge and be patient. 6 weeks is a minimum for it to heal provided you REST.

I live with this shit....When it gets really bad i get DEPO MEDROL shots right in the joint.Kills the pain for months....As i speak right now i have fluid in my elbow .......I had it drained not to long ago and 3 days later it came back....Its about time i visit the doc again.......Its just a money thing right now...Each time i go its 150 bucks off the top.....Once you get tennis elbow you can never get rid of it.....It comes from abuse....Its a way of life....embrace it........dw

Just keep in mind it doesnt heal it just goes to sleep and at any givenn time it comes back......Most PLS have this type of shit..I know from me lifting heavy all my life is what cause it...Thats the down side of being a PL...If the pain is to bad then you need a shot....Like i said the doctor will stick that neddle right in the joint where it hurts .It hurts like hell but 2 days later its like it never happened...It lubercates the joint...And its called depo medrol.....allmost forgot, get you some ibuprofen.that stuff is a wonder drug for joint pains cause by inflamed joints.......Im no doctor but i do have the experiance in this situation.....dw

Ive had it so badly as to have a Kenalog (Triamcinolone acetonide) injection and it really put out the fire and finally after taking it easy and resting for several months after the cortisone inject I could train again and have been pain free for several years! Good luck!
