Alright VIPers....need some thoughts on this one...

Turns out that I have to have a partial hysterectomy done. For some unknown reason my fallopian tube is swollen to shit, to put it lightly, lol...and they have to remove it along with one of my ovaries.

I was curious to know if this would have any impact on my hormone levels? I guess it would be just like a man having one testicle removed, and I'm thinking my levels would remain the same, if not close.

Has anyone heard of anything like this?

Also, quite bummed. I was just completing a brand new fitness regime with a diet and training overhaul as I was planning on starting my next cycle very soon...but that is just going to have to wait... wacko.gif

I wish I could help but I don't know anything about the female parts in there!! Anyway, good luck with your surgery... I'm sure everything will go well.

I wish I could help also K, but I do not know the long term side effects of it. If it is only a partial, I would think you would be fine. Kinda like a guy having only 1 testicle, it still works and his hormone levels are still fine.

Sorry MKB...I don't know anything about this either. But I'm sure things will go smooth and you'll feel better afterward. If I were you I'd try to find some articles online and see if you stumble on your answers there.

Thanks everyone!!! I really appreciate all of the kind words and prayers. As Ms.W said, I've learned that it will be just like a guy with only one testicle...smile.gif

my thoughts are with you Ms KBuff. And to my knoweldge the only way to find out how your hormone levels are after your procedure is to have them checked. Normally the other ovarie will kick in and make up for the other one. As stated..just like a man who has only one nut.

Please keep us informed of your progress...everything will work out fine.

Good luck with the surgery, MissKbuff...

Yes it will have an impact on your steroid hormone levels. The reduction is variable between one case to another though.
