I'm not sure if anyone else has heard of Christina Avaness. But she is a BRILLIANT mind when it comes to food alchemy, and has a website which I've linked below. This website has tons of info on it and food lists of which foods are good for enzymes, acids, etc, etc, etc....wihch to avoid for which reasons....etc...take a look, this site is definitely worth a once over

http://www.livingbeyondorganic.com/

Tons of recepies, lists, educated and PROPER information....

Obviously she's a quack since I regularly eat (as in almost daily) 14 of the foods that she lists as to avoid immediately. ninja.gif

Some of the foods on her list to avoid make sense to me, like refined sugar and stuff like that. But her saying to avoid peanuts, peacans, walnuts, egg, oats, milk, apples, grapefruits, oranges, carrots, sweet potatoes, and such just doesn't make any sense to me. This reminds me of how for years the so called nutrition and health experts said to avoid eating eggs because they were bad for your cholesterol, now they've discovered that eggs can help raise the level of good cholesterol in the human body. Anyway, I'm sure if I got her book, I'd understand why she suggests avoiding these items. Do you have her book?

No, I don't have her book. I hear ya about those certain foods though........makes no sense to me either.....a lot of those foods are good. I just remember hearing her interview, and she was saying to minimise the foods with little to no digestive enzymes and replace them with high ensyme foods.....so I thought maybe she was reffering to something like that....but I have no idea why she would say to remove them completely from your diet....hmmmmm, maybe she is a quack!??!?! lol....she sounded pretty knowledgable...

About the egg thing...I LOVE EGGS....my diet could never be complete without them. All good cholesterol there....

Look into Paul Chek,,,,he's got a GREAT book called "How to Eat Move and Be Healthy" and I swear it's like a nutrition bible. And he is definitely not a quack. He's a seriously great mind in nutrition and such....you can look him up and check him out on youtube smile.gif

I eat a lot of eggs myself, it is one of the primary staples in my diet along with lean red meat.

I've heard of Paul Chek, but confess that I don't really know anything about him. I'll definately take your advice though and learn more about him and his book. Thanks.

Eggs are great. I think the enzymes idea is not bad, but... We should be able to synthsize those we need ourselves. I think we need to get to the root of that problem, which is real. As we age, we lose the ability to synth enough of the right enzymes. Toxins maybe?

Interesting idea, either way.
