Just wondering if anyone here was on HRT, specifically testosterone replacement? I went to my doctor and had a bunch of tests ran and everything was really good except for my test level. I had two tests done. The first was in the morning and it was 82, and the second a few weeks later in the late afternoon and it was 70. So my doc referred me to a urologist. He has placed me on Testim 1% at 50mgs. per day. So I rub this little tube of gel on my upper arms daily now and am at day 6.

So, if you are on HRT I would love to here from you. I would like to know what type you're on especially if you're using a gel and how its been going for you. I know injections are best...lol. I tried, but he wanted me to give this a run. I do have a buddy that has been running gel and has really liked it because it didn't seem to have the highs and lows as much.

Any comments at all would be appreciated.

Oh, and I'm an old man at 42....

Peace,
Mad_dawg

I just got blood work done this past week. I talked to the doctor and I'm going ot be taking test at 250 mg a week along with hcg and armadex to keep my estrogen levels down. Currently they are above normal. Once I get my physical done on the 8th, I'll be getting my prescription done and meds the next day.

Dang that was fast.... You got something along the lines of what I was hoping for. I have been starting to do some HCG on my own. I'm not real sure how much this doctor (mine) knows about this sort of thing.

If you don't mind me asking, is this a regular type doctor or a life extension or HRT specialty doc?

It's a hrt specialist. I've heard the regular doc likes to give out topical test over injectables. PM if you need a resource for hrt.

Been on HRT for a while. Get cypionate and pins from walgreens. Since I never cycle off, I dont do anything special for it other than my normal weekly injections.

Check this guy out, he's not only the Pioneer of HRT but is well educated on the bodybuilding side as well.

I've exchanged a few e-mails with him and I can say is definately cutting edge!

he's been on various boards ,

his hcg protocal is among the best.

I get the patch. Im not too fond of it as it is prone to come off. I will ask my doc to prescribe the gel next and after that I will ask for the injects. He is methodical so I have to do things in steps. dry.gif

I really appreciate all the input guys.
I went with my Dr. because of insurance purposes. Of course then he referred me to another, but at least it's still covered. I was hoping for cyp but am trying to make the most of this gel thing.

Shine... I am familiar with Swale. In fact, I printed out some stuff from him to give to my new doc.

I looked and looked online in my area for a doctor that specialized in HRT, but didn't have much luck. I know some treatment can be done without office visits (via blood work etc), but again, I wanted to go through my insurance and I believe a lot of those places don't take insurance... at least from what I read.

i been on hrt for about 7 years now. my urologist writes my scripts for my test. they all want to start you out on the gel and i didnt want that shit and got switch over to injections quick. tell your dr your around kids alot and you know that the gel can rub off and you have sensitive skin also.thats if you want injections. then your dr will want you to come in the office once a week for an injection to get away from that explain how your work wont allow you to be off that much every week. if you have anymore questions lmk but at first you will have alot of dr visits to get everything right.my insurance pays for everything and its cheap as hell

You need to find an endocrinologist. They specialize in HRT. Call your insurance company and tell them that you need the name of one in your coverage. They will find you one. If your wanting the injections, you can stop using the gel about 4 days before your next appt for blood work and your level will be low.

I'm also on HRT. I was put on HRT by a local doctor whom I have to see once a week to get my shot. He gives me 200mg of Test Cyp. a week which is covered by my insurance. I've been on this program for over 2 yrs now.

Not after two years, but I've got the test results from the blood work somewhere at home that I could look up. To the best of my memory, it was in the lower midrange.

Has the 200mg put you on the high end, like around 1100?
