Stupid Gym "tricks"

I am talking about the guys who do pull downs move the wieght 4 inches and to do that they have to swing thier back so hard that they end up parrallel to the floor, only to later gloat about how much "wieght" they moved. They did do that "move wieght" just think if they worked thier muscle what they may say.
When I go to train I put my music on stay out of peoples way and train. I just once in awhile get annoyed when a "trainee" is all over the floor, taking up equipment that he's not using but once in a 15 minute long cycle.
Bicep Curls, thats one I am sure everyone has seen. Too much wieght, Arching back and Great use of momentum with the swinging rep form, making the exercise almost look like some type of reverse grip olympic lift????!!!!!!
like I said I mind my own business and go to the gym to train, but it always seems those with the least amount of skill or knowledge in the gym talk the loudest.
Sorry for venting but sometimes you just gotta.
anyone else have similiar observations or views????? postem!
be safe train hard

I could go on and on here, but I feel like we all know these people, and I think you've summed it up perfectly

Kind of the opposite of this thread but a guy from out of town who is moving here told me yesterday that I should go to his hometown and show people there how squats should be done. That really made me feel good as he is a competitive bodybuilder.

Mandrake I see guys doing shit wrong all the time in the gym every week I am there. worse yet I see a few trainers teaching guys wrong as well. that really makes me scratch my head and wonder. monday I showed a guy that sometimes trains with another guy I know how to squat. he had 225 on the bar and was doing half squats about to tip over frontward. one could tell he had never squated before. hes a nice enough guy so I went over & said take the weight down to 135, scrunch your traps together & up to make a shelf for the bar, spread your stance out some, keep your head straight, grab the bar further out, and get you ass down there below parallel when you drop down. he did a few reps right then I got a box for him & taught him to box squat. he was very appreciative about it all. later 3 guys who were watching from a dist were over there trying box squats and not doing bad so I talked to them some too
it is worth it to show people how to train right. I believe in karma. it does come around and goes around. it also helps that I am an old fawk- old enough to be their dad & I think they seem to listen to me better than they might another guy their own age.

AB - I tell guys to get outta the rack too when they are doing curls cuz they can go do them at least 5 other places in the gym. if they are doing something like sh press and dont really need the rack but dont have alot of other options then I will ask them how many sets they have and pretty much hang out til they get the heck outta there. its one thing if a guys doing DLs, Shrugs or actually doing squats in the cage.
