Well I finally hit 700 tonight on squats. oblique held up fine! the workout is posted in my off the porch thread. I had alot of motivation from 8 guys I know well in the gym who are all hardcore trainers. it was alot of fun having them all together in the same corner. I had 5 spotters which was great! Kong got as wound up as I did and helped me get psycho! what a rush! LOL biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Thanks alot guys!

Swolezilla - No it wasnt raw - wish I was that strong. I have a basic inzer champion suit that was pulled up and used a belt and knee wraps. bar low on shoulders with a really wide stance. I'm 6-3 so I have to go a long ass way to drop below parallel.

DW - tell these guys how much you've done in the past! I know you used to rep 700 you bad ma fawker!! wink.gif

this was a first for me. it wont be a last though. am pretty stoked. no fear and no pain to write home about after the fact. the wife does not come to watch. just as well LOL

Thanks alot guys! Yeah good point MD! Maybe things will progress more evenly now. getting that ripped oblique on its merry way after xmas was the first step.

DW I thought it was something way up there bro! you'll smash 700 sunday and be climbing right on up there again! Theres even more to be said when over 40 like we both are! IMO!

I wish when I walked into the gym I could smash down to like 5-9 tall cuz it sucks moving weight that far! my height is more in my legs than torso too so the distance to hit below parallel is a long way!

I think my buddies in the gym had as much fun in it as I did. I know kong got em all wound up - me included! LOL

Nice squat bro. I wish my back could hold up for something like that. I had to give those things up last year. I just couldnt take all the pain/pressure on my lowerback anymore. My L4,L5 are herniated..

thanks Italianmuscle! 11yrs ago I had a bulging L5 from deadlifting too heavy too long but was fortunate to get over it after about a yr. I am really careful now on this stuff cuz of that.
