Im kind of freaking out...last weekend I started having chest pains on my left side, close to my heart. I waited two days, I know it wasnt the right thing to do but the pain came and went. On monday the pain seemed to be more extreme and I ended up checking my self into mayo clinic. They freaked me out even more by putting an IV in me and oxygen mask...they ran ECG, xray, blood, urine...and after a day of connecting me to the heart moniter, the doc comes in and tells me everything is perfect....now how can that be....the pain still comes and goes but now its seems to be more of a tightness....he diagnosed me with costochondritis (tissue between the ribs become irritated). Has anyone had a similar problem? how long did it take to go away? did you still workout?

I havent workout this week and I feel like shit, Im going to start running and start eating more healthy just incase

Indigestion can give you symptoms like yours, pain in the left side of the chest. Stay safe though and see a doc if you have other symptoms like irregular heartbeats, sweating, if you feel like a hand squeezing your heart, dizziness ...

Hope you feel better, Persian smile.gif

Husband had the same thing.........still gets the pain now and then. it freaked him out as well so your not alone. As far as working out, he still does and just deals with it. I know he said he felt it was stress related which makes no sense.

I have had similar pains as well bro that only last a day to two days max... I never checked with a doc though and I got those pains long before taking any juice!!! I do not get them anymore, but yes it can be terribly freaky...

I've been diagnosed with the EXACT same thing, where the tissue gets inflammed.

It sucks, I was thinking I was having a heart attack too. I kept working out, but I only work out once a week, so it wasn't too bad for me. You should be ok to work out still.

Mine went away in a couple days, but it flares up every now and again...

Hope you feel better soon!

Try some NSAIDs bro. They will knock down the inflamation and help the rcovery time. I would not work out for a week or two just to give it time to heal. It will go away but if you don't let it heal completely then it will be easily irritated when lifting heavy. If you can get some Toradol it works great on it.

Thanks for the info, everything feels much better...still a bit sore but no more pain. Going to hit the gym hard, I really thought it was a heart issue.

Hubby's doc always said, if you can manipulate the pain (through movements) then it is NOT the heart !

Glad to here that things are going better for you bro. I will say this though, being from the midwest and knowing that you went to one of the top heart hospitals in the world, I would think that if they feel like you are OK, you might pull though just fine. wink.gif

As you age your heart rhythm may change as well. I had this happen recently and the cardiologists told me it was normal! Felt like my heart would stop for a brief second...kind of freaked me out as well. What it means...keep track of your body....eat right and more cardio. Keep a check on my lipid counts...regular check ups and training my mind and body to recognize the new change.

Happy to hear that you're doing better. Keep listening to your body! And by all means...for peace of mind...always get a second opinion.
