I've read a few scientific articles that praise it highly. However, here in Canada it is prescription-only. OF COURSE... sad.gif

So I didn't try it. Which sucks because one thing I read it does is help keep cortisol in check.

the end products of pregnenolone conversion in the body are DHEA, androstendione, cortisol and aldosterone. It doesnt make sense that taking this would keep cortisol in check, if anything it should do the opposite

Your body makes pregnenolone from the action of P450SCC (desmolase) on cholesterol so cholesterol could be viewed as the master steroid.

There's an excellent diagram of the steroid hierarchy to be found at

Pregnenolone is used as a "feel-good" addition to some products. Here's a reasonable run-down of the hormone: http://intelegen.com/nutrients/pregnenolon...al_function.htm

Considering all hormones are made from cholesterol....it certainly is.

Actually if your dhea levels are low cortisol will rise so raising your dhea does the opp it actually lowers cortisol
