Romans 12: 1 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Mark 10:28 - Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
Is your surrender motivated by personal benefits or a love for more of Jesus? Do you say, “I’m going to give myself to God because I want to be delivered from sin, because I want to be made holy?” Being delivered from sin and being made holy are the result of being right with God. Our motive for surrender should not be for any personal gain at all. A self-centered Christian goes to the Father only for something from Him, and not for God Himself. What he is saying, “No, Lord, I don’t want you; I want what you have in your bag for me. I want to remain myself, and be on display for the world to see and tell them what you have done for me.”
I believe there are “givens” attached to seeking only Jesus. These other things (satisfaction, Holy Ghost intercession, healings, and deliverance) come with the territory. Genuine total surrender is a personal sovereign preference for Jesus Christ Himself.
True surrender will always go beyond natural devotion. If we will only give up being the boss, God will surrender Himself to embrace all those around us and will meet their needs, which were created by our surrender. Beware of stopping anywhere short of total surrender to God. A vision is not enough. You need the experience. “More of thee and less of me, Dear Lord!”
God Bless

John 3:30 "He must increase, but I must decrease. "
Surrender means to yield ownership, to relinquish control over what we consider ours: our property, our time, our "rights." When we surrender to God, we are simply acknowledging that what we "own" actually belongs to Him. He is the giver of all good things. We are responsible to care for what God has given us, as stewards of His property, but by surrendering to God, we admit that He is ultimately in control of everything, including our present circumstances. Surrendering to God helps us to let go of whatever has been holding us back from God's best for our lives. By surrendering to God, we let go of whatever has kept us from wanting God's ways first.
The Lord loves you and wants you to surrender and trust his love. We'll never be happy unless we love him. That's why he gave us the great commandment (to love him with all our heart and soul).

When one reads this it seems daunting to live this way but my experience has been that this way of life takes practice and a willingness to change daily, little by little. A little change on the inside creates exponetial change on the outside. This change is not caused by me and that understanding is the difference and the why of it. It is a beautiful life if you choose it. It just takes willingness and the change has begun. Do the best you can daily to do the right thing.
Have a good day.

To me, if you need to surrender to a God to improve your life or your actions on a daily basis, then that is what you must do if you believe in it.
Let us not forget there are many other ways of improving one's self other than through Jesus.
The simple idea of acceptance, whether it be of people or hardships one encounters throughout life that are difficult to understand, is an easy step to avoid hatred towards these entities and in turn stop some of the inner turmoil one might have.
If one is at peace inside, there is no reason to seek an outside entity such as Jesus for answers or help finding inner peace.
I was brought up a catholic, but after being assaulted repeatedly by a nun for chewing gum in catholic school, I learned at an early age religion is another bullshit form of controlling people and their fears.....

self man made religions absolutely. Man always trys to control things outa greed or whatever his stupid motive and screws thing up. God said basicaly treat others as you would want them to treat you, and try to be good to everyone. He didn't demand it just asked, he left you your own free will to choose.
however man gets legalistic, uses GOD for his own selfish ideas and trys to control.

""God said basicaly treat others as you would want them to treat you""
That wasn't God that said that....it was a philosopher who said it and it is flawed in many ways. What if a person likes being treated like shit?? And don't tell me you haven't dated a few girls in your time like that....
Whatever the reason for creating religion was, both good and bad have come from it....it all depends on the person. Thats why I think why bother with religion if you are a good person and are secure in where you came from and where you are going...
My biggest problem with religion are the people who say, "I feel sorry for the non believers in Christ because I know they're going to Hell." Really?? You know for sure? Because God told you himself?? PLEASE!! Get a grip on reality.

Na "Do unto others as you have then do unto you" was written in the Book of Luke.
And Women !!! lol who can figure em out!!!
and of course there are always those that seem to like to treat others bad and for some crazy reason like to be treated bad as well.
And again Man and most religions always passes judgment and condems those and says your going to hell when they have no damn idea what's in that persons heart or there life at all.
I think GOD is more than able to minister to each of us one on one and let us know if somthing is lacking in our hearts and life with out mans involvment at all.
peace.
