I'm the kind of guy that has to work constantly to keep my muscle. I have 0% bodyfat----almost----and no matter what I eat, nothing to turns to fat. Obviously eating like shit doesn't promote good health, although I look as healthy as a person could. So if you didnt concern yourself with putting on a tire around your waste, what's better---eating 3carbs to 1 protein per day or a higher ratio of protein to carbs? I've been on diets before where I ate pasta with a little lemon and olive oil 5 times a day with an average amount of protein and I packed on mad pounds. I worked out once in the morning doing legs and at night doing upper body, every other day. I road my road bike about 10 to 20 miles a day, 4 to 5 times a week. Did this work because the carbs gave me the energy to work out all day and working out that much is really why I gained so much mass? Or was it more like the carbs bloated my muscles with water? I gained about 15 pounds over a period of 4 months at which point I hit a plateau and gave in to a very small cycle (200mg/week for 8 weeks) of deca. Continuing the same diet and routine with the deca added, I put on another 20 pounds in about 6 weeks. I dont think I could have gotten those gains from that little amount of deca without the 2 pounds of pasta a day. I've tried protein shakes of every kind and I cannot digest the protein, be it designer or any other form. I honestly dont see how to get enough calories in a day without eating tons of carbs. Any suggestions or diets without all the bullshit supplements that work without having to eat all fucking day would be greatly appreciated.

so you put on 35lbs in about 5 months... forget the deca i don't think it played much if any of a role in putting on the weight at such a low dose...

if i read your post right the issue is how to keep packing on mass without eating 5 times per day? my response is you cant. the only way to keep growing is to eat eat eat... shakes are a shit alternative to solid food... apart from whey protein + simple carbs after training (and perhaps beforehand if you like) you gotta eat...

my only suggestion aimed towards cutting down how much you need to eat to grow is to reduce the amount of cardio per day... that 10-20 mile ride every day is responsible for chewing up the vast majority of your energy... you obviously already have excellent cardiovascular fitness if thats what you've been doing and I would say you don't need to be doing anywhare near that much in order to maintain the level you've already reached...

I would suggest reduce the cardio to a volume sufficient to maintain your already high cardio fitness while maintaining your current diet... see what happens... i believe that you'll start putting on mass... then you can adjust / reduce your food intake accordingly...

in the end I would say that if you want to make dramatic changes to your body in terms of mass and strength there is simply no way around eating at least 4 solid meals per day...

That was the first time I tried gear and I was 19 so putting on muscle was easy. Now it takes about 6 months to pack on 20 pounds and I cut cardio down to just hitting a heavy bag for a half hour. What someone needs to design is something to slow down my metabolism so I dont lose everything i work for if I need to take a break for an injury or whatever. Thats the most frustrating part. Easy to put it on but just as easy coming off...

Right now my diet is around 4000 kcals to maintain my 5'9" 165 pound frame, without any gear for a few years now. I'm waiting to see the doc to get the script very soon. My test level were below 200!!! Normal is 500 - 900. My primary care said I need an intensive cycle to get me back to where I should be, so I will keep you all posted... Nothing like legal gear.... I just hope insurance covers the tab. Once I start up, my kcals sit at around 5000 and 180 comes pretty fast. I really dont like being much bigger than that....I get enough looks and comments about steroids at my normal weight. Thats what I get for being ripped ...I look so much bigger than I am.

My micro bio teacher is telling me that too much protein can be liver toxic...How many grams total per day broken into how many meals would be best for max absorption??

You can never really hurt yourself with too much protein, it turns into gases and your body will get rid of it by farting it out all day, lol...sounds funny, but seriously, that is what happens.

The ideal amount of protein is 1gm per pound of body weight...if seriously bulking, try going up to 1.5gm per pound of body weight.

If you notice that you are farting more than usual, it's going to waste, and bring it back down to 1gm.

Thats why I don't take designer or whey protein shakes. I couldn't digest the protein in those. The best thing for me was liquid amino acid by twin labs.

But thanks for the heads up on that.

So you're saying if I way 100pounds, l need to consume 150 grams of protein/day?? That means at my body weight I need to consume around 350 grams/day. That seems impossible without taking protein shakes. And there is no way in hell I can eat 5 pounds of turkey ED. There must be an easier way and if not, Im fucked.....

didnt you say you were 165lbs?
165 X 1.5 =247.5 grams of protein.

Most cooked meat will yield 8 grams per ounce. 247.5/6 MEALS =41 grams per meal. 41/8 = 5 ounces of meat per meal. That isnt even 3lbs...certainly not 5.

If you cant eat 5 ounces of meat per meal you need to pick a new sport. i dont mean that with any disrespect either. Im just being honest.

Also keep in mind I have a huge appetite so I dont neccesarily relate to your problem. I do know that Im cutting and eating 400 grams per day and it can be a little tough. And it isnt CHEAP!

Good luck either way.

One breast is relative...it could be 4oz or 12oz.....that being said you need about 5 oz per meal or 40grams of protein 6 times per day!

And you can look at if you do consume any shakes during the day.
One shake pre workout and one post...most shakes are around 30-50g/shake.

Also, glass of milk has about 8g of protein.
