Well, looks like I am having my knee surgery tomorrow morning. I have worn cartilage with bone exposed. The plan is to go in and clean up the "pot hole" in my cartilage, then drill up into the bone. I guess this lets the blood and stuff come down and fill in the pot hole. The doctor said he does this all the time on pro basketball players, but I have to be on crutches for 6 freaking weeks. That means no work for me. Thank the good lord I have sick leave.
I'll try and keep you posted (those interested) and will even try and get some pics up if they're cool enough.
I would appreciate you keeping me in your prayer book. Never have too much prayer!
Peace,
Mad_dawg

Thanks so much everyone. I had my surgery yesterday and all went well so far. He did not have to do the microfracture. I am so glad about that. That was the part where they were supposed to drill into the bone. The doctor told my girl that I did have quite a bit of damage and torn cartilage in there that was causing the pain. I guess he polished it up and removed the torn parts. My recovery "should" be shorter, but I'll know more next week when i go back.
I am at stage 3 in wear and I guess stage 4 is the worst. That doesn't sound too good. I am assuming he will say nothing high impact. No running or plyometricts I guess. I can for sure live with that...lol. I may have to stick with the stationary bike or something. I'll find out more next week.
Gonna try and put up some pics. Hope they're not too big... You can see a lot of fluid drained out which is good. I have a CPM machine I am using too.

Thanks guys. I am healing pretty well. I just hope I can get back to the things I love. I may have to make some modifications though. I can live with modifications. I have been lifting for almost 31 years now, so I don't see me stopping that. I've been competing off and on since 93 as well. I guess it has taken a toll on my body. Like my mom used to say...It's hell getting old....

How has the rehab been going>??? Are you fully back now, or do you still have a little way to go...I have had my knees done a few times and one of them is shitty now,,but I'm not sure I can deal with it again..Hope all is well..PH

PH, just seeing this sorry.
I am doing better, but I am not back fully into working out. I have been doing my judo quite a bit though and have even done decent in a local tourney (gold and silver).
I am trying to get my lifts back slowly. I haven't even tried dealifting yet, my most favorite lift. I just haven't felt up to it yet. Mostly some medium weight upper body stuff.
I appreciate you asking. I have fallen way behind on recording my log, which really sucks too.
Thanks a bunch,
Peace,
