Hey Guys - Ive been reading a lot the last year about various athletes using Chocolate Milk as a PWO drink. Seems like there have been lots of studies on it. Im looking for ways to cut back on the cost of my training (3rd kid on the way...they are sucking me dry smile.gif

Does anyone out there use CM as a PWO...or know anything about it? If so, any recommendations on recipe ( I know it sounds funny...a recipe for chocolate milk...thats like a recipe for Peanut butter and jelly). specific brands maybe? Most of the articles ive read tout the 1:4 protein carb ratio, which is fine, except for the fact that ive never seen a store bought brand that has the 1:4 ratio.

Anyway, I know this is probably not a hot topic, but just thought Id throw it out there. Any thoughts, comments or suggestions are appreciated

I use it here and there. Good ol Newquick(sp) from the store.

The only reason I started too was because I've read a few articles mentioning the same thing, that choco milk is as good as a protein shake for PWO.

Agreed! The articles ive seen seem diverse, informative, and pretty widespread. All say the same thing, its as good of a PWO drink as you get. I just wonder if pre-made from the store is good enough...as none of them are 4:1 Carb to Protein...which most of the articles point out as being so key to the process. Ive been taking fat free milk and Organic choc. syrup, doing the math to get as close to 4:1 as possible and mixing my own. kind of a pain. Anyway..thanks for the comment.

I've mixed 2%(I can't stand fat free milk) with Hersheys/Nesquik syrup before and it's ok haha.
But then Muscle Milk Choco flavored is damn good too!

Over the last 5 years I've picked up cycling/road bike racing. Coming from the BB/PWR world my size is rather counter productive but I'm just really doing it for fun and health rather that the glory of winning races. Long story short my team had a training camp out of town and after 3-4hours of endurance torture, climbing mountains on a bike my muscle began to cramp BAD as pure HELL. (Worst than on clen)

Long story short on my way back to our hotel I stopped at the local bike shop and one of the techs told me to go next door to the gas station and grab a Chocolate Milk. So I did it's been a secret weapon ever since.

i perfer to take a bottle of Smuckres Magic Shell and fill up my tub size bowl with icecream and poor the whole bottle of magic shell ..and finish it for safe keeps...dw
