I recently had my Yamaha R1 stolen, did all the PD reports, file a claim etc. Insurance its only willing to pay about $8,500 on a 12k bike so needless to say I didnt get gap insurance and it was not offered to me. Can anything be done to negotiate with the bank instead of getting on a big payment plan on something that I dont currently have. Can anything be done? Or has anyone dealt w this issue before?

With today economy I'm somewhat positive that something could be done w the banks dry.gif or negotiate w the banks on making just one pay off payment instead of the whole amount owed... Not sure.. Need some advise

Thanks

Im sorry about the lost, I had my CBR stolen a good while back. I did not have full coverage and with only 2200 miles on it was still a brand new bike.

Push for a higher claim payment, and I believe as long as your bank doesnt lose money they are willing to work with payouts

That sucks man, nothing worse than a thief!! GAP or at least additional coverage is very nice to have these days when the worth of something drops faster than the rate that the consumer can pay for it!

Do you have home owners insurance? See if they will cover the difference!
I am personally not sure if they cover automotive such as a cycle, but if you have it, give it a shot. I'll ask someone in my family who does insurance.
