Basically there are some of my family members that asked me for some help with eating plans and getting started. Health problems run rampant in people that are overweight or have poor diets as many of you know. I suggested that we would have a dinner party of a sort so I could really literally show them how to get started. I love to cook and eating healthy is not hard if you have a good coach. Anyhow, I was asked if we could start at 1:30 and be done by 3. Mind you this is for prep and cooking time alone. We also have to go shopping in the morning and I am going to show them some stuff before we cook as well as go for a swim. Now, mind you, there will be around 5-10 women from ages 21 to 34ish and we are all family so... Oh, and some are very very picky! Without further ado, here was my response...............
(start of email)
Ummm... Depends on how basic you want the show and what you want me to teach you. If you want to see the prep and everything, and ask and have questions answered, we might want to start the cooking a little earlier. I will need assistance as well. Ask *****, the prep can be very easy, but for how many people we may have, and the variety of things being made, and yadda yadda yadda... So, it depends on how you want it to work. And BTW, I aint no Rachel Ray. I can teach you how to make a 30min meal, but what we are doing is a little different. I love to cook and have fun doing it, but when it comes to cooking a nutritional meal that is also tasty, I take it pretty seriously. Now, one option is that whoever has to leave earlier, we can start with their meal prep and stuff like that, and kinda move on to others as we go, but it will be an "ALL HANDS MEETING"lol, So that when we start, everyone can see whats up. I mean, If you have ever cooked many different dishes at one time for a family dinner, you understand the process. The difference here is that we will be doing it as healthy as possible, and making it fun. I am not the Nutrition Nazi, "no ICECREAM for you! NEXT!" But I do take it seriously. Oh, and to make this a little more fun, I would like you all to get you alcoholic beverage of choice at the ready. For all already on a diet, this may not be a real cheat day, but I want it to be fun and as social as possible. Family meals are as much about the family as they are about the food. Sorry if I am long winded about all of this, but to me, eating and cooking and sharing that with family is really a passion and something deep in my heart. I care about you all and want to see you happy and healthy, and to be around for a long time to come. Poor diets and lack of exercise cause more health problems than I can list... Also remember, just because we do this once, does not mean we can't do it again. Hell, maybe we can make it a traditional event like when people used to have sunday dinners. Maybe not every week but maybe more often then we do. I like being apart of this family, and I don't think we see enough of eachother. DOES THAT ANSWER YOUR QUESTION???? LOL(end of email)
------------------------------------------
IF you are wondering about why I posted this, I am helping some people in my life get started on the road to better health and they wanted to put the time crunch on me it seems, not to mention make light work of all of this. I do want it to be fun, but they need to understand that it will be work, and I will try to make as fun as I can. It takes effort to eat the way most of you do and thats the lesson they seem not to pick up on. Anyhow, I was just sharing. Flame away if you wish. And anyone that could give me some extra pointers on dealing with picky eaters, please chime in.

I was just sharing. Isn't this the place to share? Isn't this the trust tree? I thought we were in the tree of trust. Maybe I need to edit it better to explain it better.
