A few weeks ago I was looking at myself in the mirror and I asked myself what happen to all the years, as I stared at my body I did not like what I saw, not that I am overweight or super old but I'm almost at 40 yrs of age. A few problems and a hectic work schedule stopped me from working out. I used to be 8% body fat and now I am at ?? GOD ONLY knows and I'm afraid to ask, however, I took the initiative to re-start my cardio, do lots of reps and clean up my eating habits. Its been only 3 weeks and to be honest I havent seen much but my cardio is getting better however my body fat is still high sad.gif I need to loose approx 17lbs since I am only 5'06 and my weight is approx at 180lbs and my abs disappeared, sadly and I want them back.

What do you guys recommend? I am off of test, havent done a cycle in yeaaaaars however I am using HGH but honestly I havent seen any improvement but I guess that takes time. Any help would be appreciated if any of you had come across my issue, what did you do and how did you go about?

Thanks in advance

One thing that you have to remember is that your mirror is your worst enemy. Years back, a doc told me that I had a distorted body image. I'm like you, I don't like what I see in the mirror.

There are ways to get back a body that you like: cardio, a clean diet and good supps. If you want to stay natural, try a good weightloss aid. If you're prepared to run chemicals, try clen (not DNP ... too dangerous if you ask me). Start by losing the weight by doing cardio 5 times a week (if you choose HIIT, 25 min will do the trick) and sticking to a clean diet. Remember that when you're lifting weights, your muscles need protein. wink.gif Don't starve yourself ....

The older you get the harder it becomes to lose weight without losing muscle. I'm older than you. You're not OLD, 40 years old is young weight_lift.gif

Take care!

I think the scale is the worst enemy...at least for us men trying to gain weight.

Go by the mirror, if you look like shit it's because you look like shit.

Getting old is hard, I fight it all the time, sometimes I think I am winning and then I look in the mirror, need to fight harder I guess.

As we get older one of the things we should remind ourselves of, we need more rest than lift time. Studies have prove that whole body workouts at a high intensity ( 45 min to an hr total workout time ) have a better overall effect on the body composition of a person 35 and older. In a sense its power cardio, quality muscle gain and max heart rate in a short amount of time. I like to do deads 2x week 10 setsof 3 to 5 with 30 to 45sec rest between sets, then go to a back movement, chest so on and so forth. Complete this in 45 min to an hour and your spent, with a great pump. I am kicking 40 in the ass and understand exactly where you all are coming from. I also have been off for a long time and, have thought recently about a test gh regimine for HRT.

I'm camera shy because I look terrible on pics ... the great thing about posting at the boards is that you have to hide your face laugh.gif

Closer to 50 than 40 brother- A focused kick ass hour and fifteen workout, right eating and cardio see me with fat right in front of my abs, like a sofa pillow sown in. Not huge ass love handles, just the fat there- WTF?

So I'm watching this thread for suggestions too. The change happened this year, never had this before unless I had a uniform chub layer...

Formaldhyd?, no, thats ben gay and gold bond LOL

I feel like I'm fighting that battle too bro. I'm 39. I work way to much and could be burning myself out a little.

I am running T3 though and feel a little better and have lost 40 lbs. I should do more cardio..but honestly I hate cardio unless it's team sports.

T3 has really helped me a lot. But I need to come off soon so I'm trying to get my weight a little below what it should be. It's helped me though.

For me 40 is relative. A good freind of mine is 66 and benches 400lbs. Damn I hope I'm pressing that much at his age.
