This discusses the prospect of a two tiered internet, the big boys would have a high speed wireless big bandwidth' for pay option'- us little folks? we'll be trodding the muddy backroads behind and beneath the sparkly for pay information superhighway.

The web? That whole concept was paid for by our tax dollars, the whole internet communications network began as a scientific/military information link up. We paid, and these corporate crap bags want to skim the cream off the top, leaving us the dregs...

Google and Verizon want to cash in and leave us regular folks out in the cold.

Paste the link in your browser to save VIP bandwidth...

Now look what other countries are running- and more cheaply to boot. It can be done. But the folks lining the congressmen and senators pockets won't make HUGER profits- cuz regular profits aint enough.

To keep America competitive a democratic internet is essential, it is part of keeping up with the times, and keeping educated.

Plus, there is the freedom question. The google verizon scheme sounds TOTALLY monitored...

Any thoughts?

I think too many people are getting paid off for too many things and this shit needs to stop! I don't see anyone doing anything in MY best interest lately and I and sick of it. The problem is, no one does anything, just a lot of talk and no action.

I would have thought that the $/mbps would be inversely proportional to population density, but I am surprised to see that such is not the case everywhere. Certainly this holds true for Japan and Korea, but Sweden's population density is much lower than that of France, yet their costs do not mirror this.

Certainly the relationship between US and Canadian prices reflect that fact, which can also be explained by the similarity of the technologies being used.
