Not so great a day in the gym. While doing squats with 365 on the bar, felt my right quad in the teardrop area cramp up. This is the second time this has happened with about the same weight. Not as tender this time, but iced it soon as I got home from lifting. Hydration is good, diet is ok, can't seem to figu...re out why just that spot is giving me hell???
365 is NOT a heavy squat for me. My plan today was to finish with a heavy single ior double at 495..so any input would be great!
There is no swelling or nlood pooling...so I doubt I tore anything..
Thanks for the help!

I just had the same thing go on with with right quad. Though i did feel it when i happend, i felt it the next moring when i woke up. Stiff as F**K and it hurts like a son of bitch to streach it. But when i do streach it the pain goes away for a bit. But after i keep my leg straight for a while the pain is back.

Sniper, how's that quad doing?
I pulled about everything I can over the years. Both teardrops several times. I was curious if you were using any creatine? Either of you. I have had more strains while on creatine than any other time. I know several other people that have as well.

Aside from that, you may want to schedule in some downtime in your routine to avoid overtraining. Time off really does the body good. Also cycle your intensity. I always talked about it, but rarely did it.
If you hurt something, please learn from my mistakes and give yourself time to heal. I was always to stubborn and while competing I could always envision the other guys training while I wasn't. In retrospect I would have been farther ahead then and especially now had I listened to my own body.

Hope this helps some.

Peace, mad_dawg

This might sound silly and obvious...but the BEST thing is to be SURE to stretch (and stretch properly - huge difference) every single morning and before every single work out. A lot of people do this in the morning but not before a work out and I've found myself in the same situation before.

Altering heat and ice is good for a strain or pull...and keep on stretching...

Hope it feels better soon! smile.gif

I dont think i pulled anything, i just have never trained my legs like that before. It must have been a huge shock to them is all. Im not use to super high volume, like leg exten 3x50, leg press 2x60. Its way way beyond what im use to doing. (Mad dawg) no creatine for me bro, and agree with the much needed down time. (MISS BUFF) I think if i would stretch i would be much better off with my bodybuilding. I just dont think about it till after the fact.

maybe swich your stance a bit.?...that has alot to do with pulls....and stay off the sqaut for a full week..let it heal up all the way..if not it will keep happening....Do other movements instead....dw
