song of the day

The End?
"now as to the time and the epochs, brethern, you have no need of anything to be written to you. for you yourselves know full well that the day of the LORD will come just like a thief in the night." 1 thessalonians 5:1-2

a new year is now begining. there is much talk that this is the end of time. 2012 is the end, the mayan calender ends and blah blah blah. how many times have we heard these predictions? i remember a few years ago when i was still doing my mobile practice and i listened to a christian radio station that pretty much just played preaching all day. i loved it and i was learning so much. amazing to think that i had been a christian my whole life and there was so much that i didnt get. there was much talk on it being the end of the world. Jesus is going to come. the people in the know in isreal say that all the prophecies have been fullfilled and there is every likelyhood that by this time next week, we will be gone. i remember being a bit nervous about it. was God really going to come? was the end of the world as we know it at hand? that day came and passed and we were all still here. hmmmmmm ok, debbie, think about this for a second. the bible tells us that NO ONE knows the time that the Lord is coming back! only the Father! not even Jesus knows. so tell me how it is that all these people keep saying that the end is coming? i believe with my whole heart that we are in the last hours but to God and day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day! how then do we know when that hour is going to be? for over 2000 years we have been thinking that it is just around the corner. to God, it could be another 1000 years or it could be tomorrow. the question isnt when He is coming! the question is are you going to be going with Him?! are you worrying about worldly things? is your life all caught up in what is going on around you? are you living for God? we are told that He is going to come like a thief in the night! that means that we will NEVER know when He is coming, just that He is going to come! as a christian we should be the last ones caught up in the world is ending and be out there living for God! we should be a light unto the darkness! we should be living in such a way that others are drawn to us because they want what we have! are you living for God or for the world? are you worried about when God is going to come? why? are you sure that you will be taken? i cant wait for Jesus Christ to return again! TODAY, my Jesus! come today! im ready! there is nothing in or on this world that i want more than to be with you! that should be all our cry! is it yours? if not, are you sure where you are going? the days are getting darker but the darkness can get very dark before the Lord comes to save us! will the Lord find you ready and prepared? or will you be out in the world and miss the call? Jesus, come today my Lord. im ready to go home! much peace i have in me in knowing that regardless of when you come, be it today or a thousand years from today, i will be ready and i will be with you for eternity! help me to shine bright in this dark and dying world!

song of the day

Faith
"and on the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all." acts 3:16

Faith is believing in the word of God, no matter how i feel, because God promises a good result! how much faith do you have? the bible tells us if we have faith the size of a mustard see we can move moutains! most of us know that scripture and pray it when we need or want something from God but how many of us truly believe it? it is hard isnt it?! our minds are so filled with doubt and excuses. this is why we are told to be as a child. zac, he is an amazing prayer! i hear evangelist in his prayers! at this early age, only 6, he prays with such sincerity and faith! there is no doubt in his voice! no questions in his mind! he prayed much for midge the kitten we i did surgery on him. a few days after his surgery midge was at the house and i told zac to be careful with him because of his surgery and he looked at me and said, "mom, he is fine! Jesus healed him!" who am i to argue with that! why is it that we dont have that faith?! what happens to us that we lose it?! mostly, i think it is due to the sin we have in our lives. i know so many times i prayed wrongly to God. i knew what i was doing was wrong and yet i rationalized it and prayed it anyway. most of the time i was living in sin so even when my prayers were right, God wasnt hearing them because of my sin! sin is God repellant in our lives! if you are a christian than the Holy Sp;irit dwells in you! and if the Holy Spirit dwells in you, you know when what you are doing is wrong! in 1 peter it tells the men that if you dont live with your wife in an understanding way and grant her honor than your prayers will be hindered! how many of you love you wife as God loves the church?! how many of you are too busy trying to earn more money to pay for stuff that you cant afford that you are neglecting your wife?! your prayers are hindered! women that dont respect their husbands and arent submissive to your husband, your prayers are hindered! think about the significance of that! what you call pride or your right, is getting in the way of your prayers being heard by God! it is scary isnt it?! the things that we do and feel we are right in doing and rationalize but ulitmately it is hindering our prayers and destroying our faith! we pray in defeat! we pray in doubt and therefore do not receive! it isnt Gods fault, it is our fault! we choose sin over our prayers being answered! you are discouraged because you dont feel like your spiritual life is going anywhere? i have been there! i have lived like thast most of my life! but not any longer! i want my prayers heard! i want to pray like zac and know that they are not only being heard but will be answered! how much sin are you harboring in your heart? what sin is coming between your prayers and God? do you want to live in defeat and suffering? Jesus, reveal to me areas in my life and my heart that are coming in between my prayers and you! help give me the strength and show me the way to get out of that sin! help me to be obedient to you in all things and stop rationalizing my sin and my needs for worldly acceptance and attention! more of you and less of me!

He must increase and we must decrease in 2012.
Love Matthew 17:20 I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Barnes Notes: The mustard-seed was the smallest of all seeds but produced the largest of all herbs, a tree even. If you have the smallest or feeblest faith that is genuine, you can do all things. If you have increasing, expanding, faith, growing and strengthening from small beginnings, you can perform the most difficult undertaking. There is a principle of vitality in the grain of seed stretching forward to great results, which illustrates the nature of faith. Your faith should be like that. 'You shall say unto this mountain' (in Jewish thought, a common analogy to any difficult task)...He assured them that if they had such faith they might accomplish the most difficult undertakings - things that at first would appear impossible.

Let's press forward this year knowing that if Father has placed the desire in us to accomplish something, he will provide the resources and support for us to be successful and mixed w/ our faith however minute, we can be better in all areas than ever.

And I sure Hope He comes this year, Maranatha!
