Any and all help would be greatly appreciated...........

I have severe sleep apnea. I have a cpap machine and I hate using it.
I just had a septoplasty, coblation (sp).

I weigh 297 with 23% body fat. My doctor originally wanted me to lose 100lbs and I told him thats not happening, so we agreed on 50bs.
He said I need to lose it asap. He recommended I do a zero carb diet to lose it fast.

SO, I don't know where to begin. Any guidelines and diets would be helpful. Thanks.

IMO zero carbs is stupid and you will have no energy and feel like shit,

the right carbs and lower them yes. I'm no diet guy and will leave that up to others. Ajdos is pretty good about that diet crap.

Drop the carbs down for about 4 weeks, ease into it, first thing to do really is clean out any obvious stuff you have been eating that you know you shouldnt.
Get the carbs down maybe 20% for starters, then go lower, once you establish a static baseline thats pretty low carb, then start to cycle them back and forth, 5 low days 2 high days, personally it takes me about 4 weeks once I get to the low carb diet to establish the baseline, so you may be looking at 2-3 weeks of reduction slowly and another possible 2-3 weeks to get yourself into the baseline mode before beggining the rotation, just depends how quickly you can reduce to the point of baseline and more info would be needed about your current dietary intake.

Amen that was classic Dan Duchaine and I did that diet (book) about 10 years ago or I did that and it worked great but took alot of dedication and lived off of ECA stacks.Still have the book actually but I don't mess with stimulants anymore for health reasons.
And as Ajdos stated bring it down slow and run 5 low and 2 high.
Trust me you will look forward to that first day off running them low.

Thanks,

My current diet really sucks, I know thats broad but I don't eat enough throughout the day.
My first meal wont be until noon and thats after I train. Its a high carb high protein shake.
Then 2 hours later a turkey sandwich then dinner, usually whatever the wife makes.
Then usually something really bad before I go to bed lol.
My biggest problem is putting a diet together, I know it isnt that hard but I have the hardest time doing it.
I don't stick to schedule, I eat when Im hungry not when Im supposed to.

This is my schedule
wake 4:30am, work @5
train @ 11am
dinner @5pm
bed @10

lol Me too! I never touch Ephedrine or ECA stack anymore. Works great minus the breath, light headed and a constant supply of Ketosticks lol. I think Adjos is right if you want to lose 50lbs, cycle the Carbs, alot of Competitors use that method. It's Alot easier then Opus..

ZERO alcohol and refined sugars. PERIOD...then check out your metabolic type (The Metabolic Typing Diet by: William Wollcott) you can buy that bok at any big book store...then once you know your metabolic type, it will show you the things to eat for your own personal matabolic type, thus your body will metabolize the proper foods you are eating, properly, bringing your weight down naturally without restricting you from the things (even some carbs) that you need...

Carbs are good in the morning, stay away from them in the evening.

Standard is to burn more calories than you intake, also stay away from bad fats.

It takes a couple few weeks to adjust your body but if you go low calorie no carb, up ur protein big time. The fat will dissolve and once your body adjusts to burning excess protein for energy instead of calories and carbs you will also feel excellent!! Trust me.

Down side is this includes lots of bland foods and high discipline. But if you make it that first few weeks you are set. I lost 31 lbs in 27 days on this diet and felt great once. Looked great too.

Growth, I know green drinks get a bad rap as most taste like the underside of a lawn mower BUT as you're detoxing you may want to consider a quality barley grass product. I feel so much better (especially when cutting) using Dr Hagiwara's Green Magma Plus. Doesn't taste as nasty as all the others; it's the only one I like.

Feed your cells. http://barleygreenco...n-benefits.html

Look, a good diet is pretty simple but very hard to gather the will power to stick by. The doctor is correct in cutting carbs but like most said here, zero carbs is a stupid idea. When I want to cut fat quick, I basically start 1st 2 weeks on the diet at around 50g of carbs per day. After 2 weeks I up it to about 80-120g per day. I don't believe in the 2 day per week cheat. It takes about a week for your body to kick into ketosis which is when the body switches from burning sugar 1st to fat next for energy. If you cheat and carb up after 5 days, you have to wait about another 3-5 days for your body to get back to a ketosis state. Buy yourself some ketosis strips at CVS for like $10. Start your diet and pee on a strip after a few days. The strips are color coded on the bottle to let you know what color they will be when in optimal ketosis. Eat plenty of protein from meats like ground beef, steak, chicken, and seafood. eat nuts and egg whites. eat green veggies only. Stay away from bread, pasta, rice, potatoes and especially away from drinks with sugar such as juice, soda, etc. Personally, I'd say stick with only water while dieting. drink a minimum of 64oz per day plus 20 ounces for every 25lbs you wish to lose. Water is the key to weight loss. You can do everything right on your diet but if you don't drink enough water your diet will yield minimal to no results. This is as easy and basic as I can tell you without writing an exact diet for you. I just don't have the time to do so my friend. Google low glycemic index foods. That will be of help to you. Good luck.
