Ok..my friend was trying to get in shape and I was telling him what to eat..and he asked what foods are good and shit so I was breaking it down for him into different categories..protein..carbs..fats..etc...i am just going to list a bunch of lean protein sources..good carbs..fats..etc..if u have any to add please do..i may be forgetting a few..i am trying to list a huge variety so it can help everyone..its kind of hard to get someone into dieting when they really havent before...but maybe the more variety..the better.. =)

-besides protein shakes..
-lean cuts of steak
-turkey breast
-turkey burgers
-egg whites
-chicken breasts (grilled, etc)
-canned tuna

-whole wheat bread
-whole wheat pita
-oatmeal
-brown rice
-sweet potato

other healthy shit----------

DIET is a great topic, I think we should have a section for it.
I recently learned about a diet for health.
The theme is to not mix food groups. So if you eat ANIMAL PROTEIN you never eat them with CARBS.
You may eat them with VEGGIES.
CARBS may also be eaten with VEGGIES but not with ANIMAL PROTEIN.
FRUITS only alone.
NUTS only alone.
Also never drink until 30min after eating.
Then offcourse there are some things you do not eat.
This diet is said to improve absorbtion of nutrients & be very healthy for you.
peace

I switched protein drinks and now drink Cytosports "Muscle Milk." 18 gms of fat and a mixture of some high tech protein species that keep your appetite satisfied if your cutting carbs and looking to burn fat.

Right on mike about not drinking until at least 30 minutes after you eat, a lot of people dont do this I am guilty of it myself because I just dont like having dry mouth, lol. You dont want to do this because the fluid mixed with the digestive juices need to break down the nutrients casuing a lot of nutrients not to be processed and can also lead to upset stomach. the biggest reason for us bbers is that it gets in the way of protein being synthesized.

Good post guys. Diet is the biggest nemesis I have when it comes to being healthy. Going to the gym is the easy part, trying to eat healthy is the daily struggle for me. I'm constantly on the run and sometimes it's just easier to grab something quick instead of something healthy.
