i would like more of an explanation if possible on the preworkout carbohydrates.woudnt taking in that simple carb blend cause slin levels to be jacked leading to hypoglycemia during workout?
ive been taking in 30g protein 20min preworkout but no carbs.im wondering what would be ideal.

frist off great read.....

i just started taking CTYOCARB II....on the back under ingredients it says

"..unique combination of branching as well as short, medium, and long linear chain maltodextrins with very low dextrose equivalence..."

what i got out of that article is that you need 50/50 dextrose and maltodextrins...

should i find a different carb supplement or should i just go buy some dextrose?

If you don't want to gain fat (or are looking to lose fat) do not use something like dextrose. Too much insulin is released. Too great of a chance at said dex being stored as fat.

Remember - insulin does not care where it stores energy - muscle or fat. Release too much of it and you have a much greater chance at fat gain.

Awesome post. Iv been drinking the post WKO 50/50 dex & maltodex blend mixed with MaxPro fast assimilating Max muscle protein, glutamine, and 300mgs of Iodized salt. I typically put this blend of dry powders together in a bottle and bring to gym then add the water shake & drink immediately after my last set. Water is a natural solvent I have heard that it will break down some of the protein if shake made ahead of time and allowed to sit for a while so I only add the water just before I drink it.
One thing iv been thinking though is that taking the pre WKO shake of a gram Dex/maltodextrin 50/50 mix per KG body weight in addidion to the post WKO shake your looking at a ton of sugar & calories. I would think this would work well for bulking, and possibly becomming diabetic but not so well to stay ripped.
For pre work out im cool with a sandwich an hour before, some amino acid caps, and a bannana just before. Anyway, great info.

real good article man, I do something like this but combine 28-32 oz of water with this so I am getting water while I train as well.
