Hey, I was reading on here the other day about fat loss..What i read was that running will burn up musc/le..So people should use a stair stepper or eliptical or something like that? I just don't see how that is any different....

It all depends on your intensity, % MRT, and duration of cardio as to what type of calories you will burn and towards how much muscle you will spare in doing so. If you just went and 'ran' straight for 30 mins., yeah, you would be sacrificing serious muscle because that is a very intense cardio session. To maximize fat loss and minimize muscle catabolism it is recommended to stay in 60-65% max heart rate range, no matter what type of cardio you are doing. If you can walk on a treadmill, and reach that target heart rate, then you're golden. Some ppl. have to do a run/walk type thing, or even do machines, it all depends upon your current level of fitness and the goal you are working towards as how you should design your cardio sessions.
